Ozon Fashion Flash

Posted on November 21, 2012

I’m overwhelmed with joy and satisfaction for last night’s Ozon Fashion Flash Spring-Summer 2013.

Somf and Digitaria were the designers that participated in a special fashion presentation, accompanied by the live music of Rattler Proxy (for Somf) and Melatonini (for the latter). Me and Christos Alxandropoulos, together with the two Somfettes, Mariaflora and Olivia, had been brainstorming for the last ten days regarding the presentation, the styling and the creative direction of the whole, and I want to believe that the final outcome was quite good.

I utterly enjoyed every moment of it (especially the song part -GOD!) Special thanks to Dimitris Sarantou with Moroccanoil, for taking a good care of the hair and make up of our girls.

Since I was too busy to use a camera, I kindly steal some shots from my dearest Ioanna Hatziandreou. You can also find some backstage photo collages by Markos Andriotis here.

Alexander McQueen – The backstage film

Posted on November 9, 2012

Alexander McQueen launches today a backstage film created by Sean Frank, during the Spring/Summer 2013 show.

“The collection is a study of femininity. We looked at erotica. Vargas girls, cages, corsets and crinolines and the idealisation of the female form. Nothing is set in a particular period.  It’s about sensuality and skin but not nudity. We also wanted to express lightness, for the clothes almost to hover over the women who wear them.” Sarah Burton.

Sometimes I’m Milk/ Sometimes I’m Honey

Posted on October 11, 2012

Monday morning October 8th was a girl thing: Milk & Honey invited athenian girls, myself included, to be featured in their new campaign -coming up the following days. All of us had the chance to choose a favourite Milk&Honey outfit  for the story, so I was really excited to slip into a couple of beautiful pants and silk tops. The photographer was no other than George Malekakis and a video is on its way as well, by Ioanna Chatziandreou.
Special thanks to Milk & Honey girls, Morfe for the make up, Ioanna and Mirella Alexou for grabbing my camera and creating backstage memorabilia. A few photos from the shooting used as a teaser for what’s coming up next!

the ballet

Posted on May 13, 2012

a few days together with Christos Alexandropoulos we went over the Athens Concert Hall for a very good reason: To have a sneak peak at the first rehearsal of Romeo & Juliet ballet, the masterpiece of Sergei Prokofiev and the latest production of the National Opera, choreographed by Renato Zanella.

This is the first post, with a small backstage video from the rehearsal, just to tease you for what is to follow soon: backstage photos of the dancers and the costumes designed by Celia Kritharioti.

The most wonderful tale of eternal love based on the Shakespearean tragedy,Romeo and Juliet has been a source of inspiration for a large number of choreographers and dancers over the years. This major literature-based ballet will be Renato Zanella’s first piece specifically crafted for the Greek National Opera’s Corps de Ballet. “I was waiting for the day that I’d be commissioned to do this piece. I know how important it is to have this major ballet in the Greek National Opera’s repertoire. The personality and talent of the dancers in the G.N.O’s Corps de Ballet inspired me to take this decision”, he commented.
