Exclusive one-off pieces, limited series, creation in design, jewellery and fashion… A three-part editorial line launched by Galerie BSL which opened to the public in the Marais on May 7th, at 23 rue Charlot, Paris 3rd. Founded by Béatrice Saint-Laurent, this is a place that aims at making over the codes of the genre. The on-site architecture by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance breaks with the international white cube standard for art galleries – a model that may suit contemporary artworks but does not cover the needs of a design gallery. Noé has re-shuffled conventional object display codes by proposing a white Corian spiral scanned by sequences, a sculpture extrapolated to architectural scale. Roger Vivier for Robin Hood

Bruno Frisoni, Artistic Director of Roger Vivier, has created the high boots worn by actress Cate Blanchett for her role as Maid Marion in “Robin Hood”. The boots are a result of the collaboration between Cate Blanchett, Bruno Frisoni and Janty Yates, the costume designer. Bruno Frisoni:  “When Cate asked me to create her boots for the movie, I was so excited  I started sketching while we were still on the phone. In my mind I could see not only the boots but Cate as Maid Marion herself! Cate is an incredible actress and person. I admire her modernity, which is fragile and strong at the same time. taking down the steps at ‘Katarameno Syndromo’ on Saturday night, the smell of mold and soil got violently in my nostrils. cement walls, four chairs and plastic ivy plants on the stage.  underground or what. the few of us who gathered there, went to listen the experimental sound of three artists that have something to say ‘Angelos Kyriou‘ started first, half singing/half reciting his songs, like texts from a diary of a cursed poet, you don’t know if you want to burst out to laughs or tears ‘A thousand beautiful women’ played two ten-minute improvisations of psychedelic glitches that pierced ears and mind, completed by Tina’s etherial vocal sounds.
